A FUPA is a colloquial term for the fatty tissue that accumulates above the pubic bone and below the abdomen in women. It is also known as a “pubic apron” or “lower belly pooch”. FUPAs are often caused by weight gain, but they can also be a result of hormonal changes, genetics, or certain medical conditions.
FUPAs can be a source of embarrassment for some women, but they are not necessarily a sign of poor health. In fact, some research suggests that FUPAs may actually be protective against certain health conditions, such as heart disease and type 2 diabetes.
